Welcome to Watertown New York's USFSA-sanctioned figure skating club!
We skate at the Fairgrounds arena. Our programs include everyone from basic skills skaters, competitive track skaters, and adults.
Show News:
Ice Show practice begins February 12; Father-Daughter practice that had been scheduled for February 20 is canceled and Thriller number off-ice practice scheduled for February 18 is canceled due to Winter Break.
Please check the bulletin board and Basic Skills table at the rink for more information; forms for videos and photography will be forthcoming.
Other News:
There will be three vacancies on the club’s Board of Directors as follows:
2 one-year terms 1 three-year term
These vacancies will be effective April 1, 2010. This is an excellent opportunity to volunteer for a program that benefits so many kids, plus have a say in club decisions and activities. We Need You to make this club stronger!
Board members must be 18 years old. They are responsible for attending monthly Board of Directors meetings, and carrying out tasks to further the goals of the club as defined in the meetings and by the United States Figure Skating Association. For more information, please speak with a board member.
Elections to these positions will be held at the annual club banquet on March 26 (details to follow at a later date). To throw your name in the hat, please obtain a Board Member Election Form at the Basic Skills table on Friday evenings, or download one from the club’s website at www.skatewatertown.org. (Scroll to bottom of page). Forms should be turned in to Eileen Crandall anytime, or to Carolyn Boone at the Basic Skills table on Fridays. Deadline for forms: MARCH 13, 2010.
The first day of ice is September 28, 2009 for Junior/Senior/Adult skaters. The first day of ice for Basic Skills is October 2, 2009. Please scroll to the bottom of this page for related forms.
WONDERING IF SKATING IS CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER? As long as the city of Watertown does not close the rink, club skating will not be cancelled. Please check county travel advisories before coming to the rink. It's OK to miss a session if you think it's unsafe to travel.
Important: All Junior/Senior/Adult Skaters must sign in each time they use club ice time. All skaters (including Basic Skills) must sign in each time they use Saturday club ice time.
Important: Skaters under six years are required, without exception, to wear a helmet on the ice. Helmets are to be provided by the skater, not the arena or the figure skating club.
